"Annie Sloan is widely regarded as a “paint legend”and one of the world’ s leading experts on decorative painting, having worked as an artist, interior designer and paint maker since the 1970s. She created Chalk Paint® decorative paint in 1990. Since 2010 Chalk Paint® has been made in the USA and is now sold in more than 500 authorized ‘stockists’ nationwide, and in 33 countries around the globe.
Annie Sloan has written more than 20 books on traditional paints, colors and techniques with sales of two million+ worldwide, printed in eleven languages. Annie’s latest book (2014) is ‘Room Recipes for Style and Color,’ co-authored with her son, Felix. Her previous best-selling book (2013 CICO Books) is “Color Recipes for Painted Furniture and More ’ . It follows up from the highly successful 'Creating the French Look' and 'Quick & Easy Paint Transformations'. Oxfordfolio also published the ‘ Annie Sloan Work Book’ in November 2012, which is an all-in-one notebook, planner, diary, sketchbook and folder.
Annie lives and works in Oxford with her husband David who runs the business with her. She has three sons. Born in Australia to a Scottish father and a Fijian mother, Annie went to live in England when she was 10. With spells in Southern Africa and connections to France and the USA, Annie feels she has world roots. "
